This conference, under the ambit of a project of the Brookings Institution Global Economy and Development Program, was jointly organised by the Asian Development Bank Institute and Bank Negara Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on 4 August 2010. The objective of the event was to engage high-level policymakers, academics and practitioners in discussions on the effective design of regulatory and policy frameworks that will promote financial system development and stability in emerging market economies, with focus on Asian emerging markets.
