This book compiles the landmark speeches of Bank Negara Malaysia, tracing its development from its inauguration on 24 January 1959 to its 30th Anniversary on 26 January 1989. The speeches are broadly divided chronologically into four periods, coinciding with the stewardship of the first four Governors of the Bank.

The speeches cover a variety of subjects and issues involving Central Banking from monetary policy, international finance and cooperation and macroeconomics to bank supervision and regulation and the development of banking and financial markets.
