ABOUT THE FORUM

Bank Negara Malaysia together with Bar Council Malaysia and Institut Bank-Bank Malaysia are pleased to bring you the Banking and Financial Law School 2007 in conjunction with the Islamic Financial Services Board General Assembly of Council Meetings in Kuala Lumpur. This year's Law School will be a comprehensive one-day event, which is tailored to provide participants with a detailed understanding of current legal issues involved in the documentation of Sukuk. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the practical issues in drafting these documents from experienced practitioners and Shari'ah experts. In addition to the comprehensive course programme, each participant will be provided with a manual comprising standard transaction documents for Sukuk based on Ijarah, Musyarakah and Mudharabah principles drafted for use in the Malaysian market. The Law School will benefit private practitioners, in-house legal counsel, bankers and other professionals involved with Islamic finance.
