The Financial Regulators Forum in Islamic Finance

The FRFIF is an inaugural forum specially tailored for financial regulators, including banking, insurance and security industry which focus on central banking issues relating to Islamic banking and finance. It will be organised annually by Bank Negara Malaysia under the auspices of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme. Participation is by invitation only and targeted at management level (Directors and above).
The one-day pre-conference which covers the fundamentals and underlying philosophy of Islamic finance and Shariah application, will also include a half-day IFSB public lecture on Financial Policy and Stability. This is followed by a two-day conference, which includes Governor’s Forum and high-powered panel discussions, aims to provide a comprehensive coverage on the key central banking issues in Islamic finance and IFSB interactive session. The Forum will be summarised with a one-day executive workshops comprising three main pillars namely Islamic banking, takaful and Islamic money and capital market to deliberate issues that cover the comprehensive framework on legal, regulatory and prudential aspect for Islamic finance, the essential elements required in supervision on Islamic financial institutions, and the business operations and risk management in Islamic finance.
