Finance Ministry unveils 'MediAsas' health insurance, pilot to begin end of July

The new base medical and health insurance/takaful (MHIT) plan will be known as MediAsas, the Finance Ministry said.The plan, under the Joint Ministerial Committee on Private Healthcare Costs (JBMKKS), will also commence its pilot phase at the end of the month.

“The MediAsas pilot programme which will commence at the end July, marks a further milestone in preparing the ground for nationwide implementation in January 2027.
