As one of the key institutions within Malaysia’s Islamic finance ecosystem, IBFIM works closely with its stakeholders, the Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM) and the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA), to ensure alignment with industry priorities and standards.

As an industry-driven institute, IBFIM develops talents for the Islamic finance sector through a comprehensive range of programmes, from foundational knowledge to advanced learning. Awards/Accolades/Achievements

Achievements

  • IBFIM has certified more than 16,090 individuals over 30 years in various Islamic finance programmes.
  • Organised, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) that brings together participants from various countries to equip them with the essential foundational knowledge of Islamic finance. Around 274 international participants, represents 40 countries had completed the courses through 15 cohorts.
  • Organised the Commercialising Waqf Assets Programme, a collaboration with PERGAS Investment Holdings, Singapore. The programme covers key Shariah principles, relevant regulatory frameworks and real case studies within the Singapore context.
  • Organised the annual Purpose-based Islamic Leadership (PIL) Programme, a Tawhidic-based executive leadership initiative designed to cultivate ethical leaders through the integration of Islamic values and principles from diverse sources.
  • Collaborated with the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) for the Sustainability Leadership Programme for Financial Institutions. The annual programme is designed for senior executives to develop capabilities to lead the implementation of value-based intermediation and sustainability initiatives within financial institutions.
