Insurance
We are covered under the Malaysian Bar Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme for up to a limit of RM750,000.00 (Each and every claim, in excess of the Base Excess or increased Base Excess & subject to Clauses 5-10 of the Certificate of Insurance) (Mandatory Insurance 2026) and additional top-up from Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad for RM14,600,000.00 (Any One Claim / In the Aggregate) (Top-up Insurance 2026) and thus the total of RM15,350,000.00 in the aggregate for the period from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2026.

Area of Services
Overall, our Firm focuses mainly on Shariah, Legal and Documentation including advisory services concerning Islamic Banking products and compliance. Our Firm also has extensive experience in providing consultancy services and drafting and advising our clients on corporate matters particularly related to Legal and Shariah compliance.
We wish to highlight that at present, we are providing our services for the Islamic financial institutions and Non-financial institutions, amongst other as follows:
- Conversion exercise for the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions:-
- Preparing the legal documentation for such exercise and attending to all stamping, registration at relevant government departments and all incidental matters therefrom
- Consultation and preparation of the usual documentation for such exercise and also be involving in the brainstorming stage, the structuring stage and the implementation stage and assisting the the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions task force in formulating the policy of the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions on this
- Attend the meeting with Shariah board of the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions and explain to them the structure and present to them the legal documentation prepared by us on this
- Also, before the launching and commencement of the conversion exercise, once all the policy and process and procedure have been finalised, we will provide a training to key personnel of the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions on the modus operandi of this exercise and the dos’ and don’ts’ of it
- Drafting, designing, vetting, amending/changing, reviewing, revising, proposing, preparing, structuring, developing, creating, simplifying and advising the new and/or existing products features, the SOPs, the Shariah and Legal Documentation to ensure compliance with the Policies Documents issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (such as Tawarruq, Rahn, Bai’ al-Sarf (Currency Exchange), Kafalah, Wa’d, Ijarah, Hibah, Qard, Wadiah, Wakalah, Istisna’, Mudarabah, Musyarakah, Murabahah)
- Providing legal opinion/confirmation on the relevant enforceability of Shariah and Legal Documentation
- Providing legal opinion on the compliancy of Shariah and Legal Documentation with court precedents, financing best practices, relevant statutory changes and/or Bank Negara Malaysia’s guidelines
- Providing legal opinion/confirmation on the enforceability, validity and binding effect of the existing aqad documents
- Providing legal views/comments/advice and feedbacks on various issues raised by the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions
- Providing briefing/walkthrough documentation session for the officers of the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions
- Attending to emails, telephone conferences, meetings and briefing with the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions to discuss incidental matters or issues arising including meeting with operation department of the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions and Shariah liaison personnel
- Ensuring the following (and providing the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions a written confirmation / letter in support thereof):-
- the adequacy and enforceability of the documentation provided to the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions
- that the provisions therein protects and preserve the interests of the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions and legal rights pertaining to its financing agreements
- that the security documents for the facilities are complete, comprehensive and adequate for their purpose; and
- the documents limit or mitigate the risks and liabilities of the Financial Institutions/Non-Financial Institutions
