Munich Reinsurance opened a branch in Kuala Lumpur, and wrote our very first Malaysian contract, in 2008 that is devoted to Retakaful business. The Munich Re Retakaful branch currently offers Family (Life & Health) Retakaful support to Southeast Asian countries and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the Middle East. Since Munich Re Retakaful’s inception, we have provided reinsurance support to all takaful operators in Malaysia (and abroad), across various lines of business in the Family Takaful space.
