Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) is organising a programme that aims to understand the financing needs, assess the level of financing readiness and identify the approval gaps of microentrepreneurs to improve their access to business financing.
Feedback from microentrepreneurs on the challenges they face in accessing business financing will help BNM understand their needs more deeply. The findings will be used to develop more targeted guidance and advisory sessions, thereby improving financing readiness and the likelihood of approval for business financing applications, including under the Skim Pembiayaan Mikro (SPM)[*].
(In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), any personal information submitted will be protected and managed in accordance with Bank Negara Malaysia’s Privacy Statement, which can be accessed at https://www.bnm.gov.my/privacy-statement.)

The main objectives of this programme are to:
- Provide guidance to participants on steps to improve financial preparedness and opportunities to obtain business financing, including under the SPM.
- Increase awareness among micro entrepreneurs on guidance and advisory programmes offered by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK), Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) and other strategic partners.
- Provide participants with access to relevant reference materials, tools and documents to strengthen their financing applications.
If you are a microentrepreneur who is interested in applying for business financing or has applied but been unsuccessful, BNM welcomes your participation by completing this questionnaire. The feedback provided is invaluable in helping BNM develop more effective initiatives to increase access to financing for micro entrepreneurs.
[*] SPM is one of the facilities for microentrepreneurs to obtain business loans of up to RM100,000 without collateral from participating financial institutions (further information on the list of financial institutions and the SPM products they offer can be accessed on the Microfinance page.)
