The Bank produces the following publications on a regular schedule:
Monthly Highlights & Statistics
This monthly publication comprises two main components. First, the publication of the 'Monthly Highlights' report which features key issues surrounding domestic economic and financial developments for the month. Second, the release of monthly data covering areas such as the consolidated balance sheet of the Malaysian banking system, financial markets, insurance and takaful, the external sector and other macroeconomic indicators. Taken together, these publications aim to be the primary source for monthly updates and statistics on economic and financial developments.
Quarterly Bulletin
The BNM Quarterly Bulletin presents a quarterly review of Malaysia’s economic, monetary and financial developments. It includes the Bank’s latest assessments on the direction of the economy going forward. The Bulletin also provides insights on current economic and financial issues, including highlights of policy initiatives undertaken by Bank Negara Malaysia in pursuit of its mandates.
Bank Negara Malaysia Annual Report
The Bank Negara Malaysia Annual Report features a comprehensive material on economic developments and trends in Malaysia. The report includes information on money and credit, public finance, real sector development (production, prices, wages and employment), and external sector developments (exchange rate, trade and balance of payments).The report also carries box articles on selected topics of current interest and is relevant for the macroeconomic management of the country.
Economic and Monetary Review
The Economic & Monetary Review is a technical publication that documents the Bank's economic assessment and research. It focuses on economic and monetary developments in the Malaysian economy, and the outlook for the year.
Financial Stability and Payment Systems Report
The report also carries box articles on selected topics of current interest and is relevant for the macroeconomic management of the country. Replaced by Financial Stability Review in 2018.
Note: Starting 2006, both publications of Insurance Annual Report and Takaful Annual Report have been discontinued. The information and statistics contain in these reports are now published in the Financial Stability Review.
